Birdworld Kuranda is a walk-through bird attraction in the rainforest village of Kuranda, near Cairns in Tropical North Queensland. The free-flight enclosure houses more than 350 birds across nearly 60 native and exotic species, set within a naturally landscaped environment of waterfalls, ponds, and rainforest planting that replicates the birds' wild habitats. Species on show include Amazonian macaws, rainbow lorikeets, galahs, cockatoos, and the endangered southern cassowary, one of Australia's largest birds and rarely seen in captivity.
Visitors move freely through the enclosure, with hand-feeding and close-contact photo opportunities available throughout. A dedicated Finch Aviary adds a quieter section to the circuit. The attraction is fully wheelchair accessible and is located at 8 Rob Veivers Drive, Kuranda, making it easy to combine with other Cairns attractions on the same day. Entry tickets cover full access to all areas of Birdworld Kuranda, including the cassowary habitat and the Finch Aviary, with no timed entry slots required.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the experience.
