Château de Chantilly is a historic estate approximately 50 kilometres north of Paris, set within formal and informal gardens that rank among the most varied in France. What to expect

The French garden is the centrepiece, with immaculately maintained parterres, a grand canal that reflects the sky, and a series of fountains and statues arranged to create long, ordered vistas. The Anglo-Chinese garden, laid out in a more naturalistic style, features rustic structures and was a direct influence on the Hameau de la Reine that Marie Antoinette later commissioned at Versailles. The English garden offers a quieter, more contemplative atmosphere, with the Temple of Venus and the Beauvais Waterfall providing focal points along its winding paths.

The château dates to the sixteenth century in its current form, though the estate has a longer history tied to the Condé family and later the Duc d'Aumale.
