Sobre este local

The Rembrandt House Museum occupies the canal house on Jodenbreestraat in Amsterdam where the painter Rembrandt van Rijn lived and worked for nearly twenty years, from 1639 until his bankruptcy forced him to sell it in 1658. The building was restored in the late twentieth century to reflect its seventeenth-century appearance, and today its rooms are furnished and equipped to show how Rembrandt would have lived, painted, and taught his apprentices. The reconstruction of his studio, complete with pigments, tools, and the kind of light that fell through its large windows, gives visitors a direct sense of his working practice.

The museum holds an extensive collection of Rembrandt's etchings and stages regular demonstrations of etching techniques. Current ticketed experiences include a combined visit pairing the Rembrandt House with Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, and a second combination ticket linking it with the H'ART Museum, which stages major international exhibitions in the city. Both pairings allow visitors to explore Amsterdam's broader cultural offer alongside one of its most historically significant addresses.
