Sobre o local

Sobre este local

The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris occupies the east wing of the Palais de Tokyo, a monumental building constructed for the 1937 International Exposition on the banks of the Seine. Owned by the City of Paris, the museum holds one of the largest public collections of modern and contemporary art in Europe, with particular strengths in Fauvism and the School of Paris. Its permanent collection includes Raoul Dufy's vast mural La Fée Electricité, one of the largest paintings in the world, alongside major works by Matisse, Picasso, and Modigliani.

The museum is currently presenting an exhibition dedicated to Brion Gysin, the British-American artist, writer, and inventor whose restless practice crossed painting, sound, poetry, and performance. Gysin spent formative years in Paris and his connection to the city runs deep, making the Musée d'Art Moderne a fitting setting to examine his legacy. The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to encounter the full breadth of his visual and conceptual output in one of the French capital's foremost civic art institutions.
