Sobre este local

The Postal Museum in London tells the story of five centuries of postal history, from the royal mail networks established under Henry VIII to the Victorian penny post that transformed communication for ordinary people. Housed in the former Mount Pleasant Mail Centre in Farringdon, the museum holds one of the most significant philatelic and postal collections in the world, including original pillar box designs, sorting equipment, and rare stamps. Its most distinctive feature is Mail Rail, the miniature underground railway that once carried letters and parcels beneath the streets of London between 1927 and 2003. Visitors can ride restored carriages through the original tunnels and explore the subterranean stations that kept the postal network moving through wartime and beyond.

Entry tickets give access to the main museum galleries as well as the Mail Rail experience, taking in interactive displays on how the postal service shaped British society, commerce, and culture across the centuries.
