The Jack the Ripper Museum stands on Cable Street in the East End of London, a short walk from the Whitechapel streets where the unidentified serial killer claimed five victims in the autumn of 1888. The museum occupies a converted Victorian terraced house and takes visitors through the social history of the women who were killed, the police investigation that gripped the nation, and the enduring mystery of the killer's identity. Exhibits include period artefacts, reconstructed Victorian interiors, and displays examining the press coverage that turned the case into a global sensation.

The East End setting is central to the experience. Whitechapel in the 1880s was one of the most densely populated and impoverished districts in London, and the museum places the murders firmly within that context of poverty, migration, and Victorian policing. Tickets are available for general admission to the permanent collection, giving visitors access to all floors of the building.
