About the venue

About this venue

Burgundy Day Trips from Paris offers guided day excursions from the French capital into the Burgundy wine region, one of the most celebrated viticultural landscapes in the world. The route south from Paris passes through rolling countryside before reaching the Côte d'Or, where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes have been cultivated across precisely mapped plots, known as climats, for centuries. These climats were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015, recognising their exceptional cultural and agricultural significance.

The current programme includes a Burgundy Wine Day Trip from Paris, taking participants into the region to explore its vineyards, villages, and cellars. Burgundy's winemaking traditions stretch back to the medieval monasteries of Cîteaux and Cluny, whose monks developed many of the classification principles still in use. A day trip from Paris covers roughly 300 kilometres by road or rail, making Burgundy one of the most accessible of France's great wine regions for visitors based in the capital.
