A guided half-day hike through Arrábida Natural Park, a protected limestone coastal reserve 40 km south of Lisbon with clifftop sea views and resident dolphins.
Half-Day Hiking at Arrábida Natural Park is a guided half-day hiking experience in the Arrábida Natural Park, located on the Setúbal Peninsula roughly 40 kilometres south of Lisbon. The park was established in 1976 and covers a stretch of the Serra da Arrábida mountain range, where limestone ridges drop sharply to the Atlantic, forming sheltered coves with clear turquoise water and golden sand. A local guide leads the group along trails that pass through pine forest, scrubland, and coastal cliffs, pointing out the park's geology, biodiversity, and cultural history along the way. Optional pick-up from Sesimbra is available for those who select it at booking.
On the trail, the guide directs visitors to lesser-known viewpoints overlooking the mountains and sea, and explains the protected flora and fauna found within the park, including rare plant species and resident wildlife such as wild boar. The sheltered bay below the ridge is frequented by dolphins, and sightings from the clifftop paths are common. The routes are generally uncrowded, offering a quieter alternative to the more visited Lisbon attractions further north. Tickets cover the guided hike and, where selected, the Sesimbra transfer. Additional activities including 4x4 tours, kayaking, rock climbing, and coasteering are available separately at an extra cost on the day.
Make your way to Vertente Natural Shop at Sesimbra Harbour ahead of your scheduled start time. If you have selected the pick-up option, be ready at your agreed meeting point in Sesimbra a few minutes before departure. Arrive in good time so the group can set off together without delay.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time.
