Om dette stedet

The Berliner Fernsehturm rises 368 metres above Alexanderplatz, making it the tallest structure in Germany and one of the most recognisable landmarks on the European skyline. Constructed by the German Democratic Republic and opened in 1969, the tower was conceived as a statement of socialist ambition and technological progress. Its steel sphere, perched roughly 200 metres above street level, houses an observation deck and the revolving Sphere Restaurant, which completes a full rotation approximately every half hour, offering uninterrupted views across Berlin's rooftops, the Spree river, and the surrounding cityscape.

Today the Fernsehturm welcomes visitors who come to experience Berlin from above, combining the ascent with meals and drinks served in the rotating restaurant. The tower stands on Alexanderplatz in the Mitte district, a square that has been central to Berlin's public life for centuries and remains one of the city's busiest meeting points. Entry tickets that include dining allow guests to take in the panorama at a measured pace, with the city's landmarks shifting gradually into view as the restaurant turns.
