The Shard

The Shard rises 310 metres above the South Bank, making it the tallest building in the United Kingdom and one of the most recognisable structures on the London skyline. Designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano and completed in 2012, its tapering glass form was conceived to evoke a shard of glass emerging from the Thames. The building sits directly above London Bridge station, placing it at a historic crossing point of the city.

The View from The Shard occupies levels 68 to 72, where floor-to-ceiling glass panels and an open-air gallery offer unobstructed panoramas stretching across Greater London and, on clear days, up to 40 miles beyond. Visitors can take in the Thames winding through the city, the dome of St Paul's Cathedral, and the towers of Canary Wharf from a single vantage point. Tickets are available for a standard visit or as an all-inclusive experience with champagne, making it a fitting way to mark an occasion above one of Europe's most layered and storied capitals.
