The route crosses between boroughs and takes in neighbourhoods that range from 17th-century Dutch settlement patterns to 20th-century immigration waves, all visible in the street grid and architecture.

The tour passes through Chinatown, Little Italy, DUMBO, and Brooklyn Heights, with stops at or near the Manhattan Bridge, the World Trade Center site, and the United States Court District. Each location gives the guide a natural anchor for the history and character of the area. Every ticket includes a Dutch bike (classic or electric), a helmet, and a basket or bike bag for personal items.
