Barcelona Aquarium

The Barcelona Aquarium sits at the edge of Port Vell, the old harbour that stretches out from the foot of La Rambla, and it ranks among the largest aquariums in Europe dedicated entirely to Mediterranean marine life. Its centrepiece is an 80-metre transparent tunnel that passes through an oceanarium holding 4.5 million litres of water, where sharks, rays, and schools of fish move overhead and on either side. Eleven thematic tanks surround the main oceanarium, each representing a distinct Mediterranean habitat, from the rocky Catalan coast to the open sea floor.

Its Flexi-Ticket option allows guests to choose their entry time with flexibility, making it a practical choice for those planning a day around the waterfront district. Port Vell itself connects the aquarium to Barceloneta beach and the broader seafront, placing the venue at a natural meeting point between the city and the sea.
