Trajan's Market stands on the slopes of the Quirinal Hill in Rome, forming part of the vast Imperial Fora complex commissioned by Emperor Trajan in the early second century AD. Designed by the architect Apollodorus of Damascus, the structure is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of ancient Roman commercial and administrative architecture to survive in the city. Its curved facade of brick and concrete rises across several levels, incorporating what were once shops, offices, and storage spaces serving the population of imperial Rome.

Today the complex operates as the Museum of the Imperial Fora, housing sculpture, architectural fragments, and reconstructions that trace the development of the Fora from Julius Caesar to the late empire. Visitors can currently access the site with a skip-the-line ticket that includes a multimedia video presentation, offering context for the layers of history visible throughout the building. The combination of original Roman fabric and modern interpretation makes Trajan's Market one of the most instructive ancient sites open to the public in Rome.
