À propos du lieu

À propos de ce lieu

Manzoni House is the historic Milan residence of Alessandro Manzoni, the nineteenth-century novelist and poet whose work I Promessi Sposi stands as one of the foundational texts of Italian literature. Located in Via Morone in the centre of Milan, the building preserves the rooms where Manzoni lived and worked for much of his long life, offering visitors a direct encounter with the domestic world of one of Italy's most celebrated writers. The interiors retain period furnishings, personal objects, and archival materials that illuminate both the man and his era.

The museum is home to the Casa del Manzoni experience, which guides visitors through the preserved apartments and the library collections held within the building. For anyone with an interest in Italian literary history, Risorgimento culture, or the domestic life of the nineteenth-century Milanese bourgeoisie, the house offers a thoughtful and well-documented portrait of a writer whose influence on the Italian language itself was profound.
