À propos du lieu

À propos de ce lieu

Kew Gardens, formally known as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, sits on 326 acres in Richmond upon Thames in south-west London and holds UNESCO World Heritage status. Its collections span more than 50,000 living plant species, making it one of the most significant botanical research institutions in the world. Landmark structures include Decimus Burton's Palm House, a sweeping Victorian glasshouse completed in 1848, and the ten-storey Great Pagoda designed by William Chambers in 1762. The gardens have shaped botanical science for over two and a half centuries, supporting conservation programmes and seed-banking through the Millennium Seed Bank partnership.

Visitors today can explore the glasshouses, the treetop Xstrata Treetop Walkway, and seasonal garden landscapes that change markedly across the year. Entry tickets give access to the full gardens, while a combined ticket pairs a Kew visit with admission to Kensington Palace, the historic royal residence in Hyde Park. Both options offer a substantial day out across two of London's most distinguished heritage sites.
