The Montserrat Experience is an attraction set in the mountain of Montserrat, roughly 50 kilometres northwest of Barcelona, combining entry to multiple sites across this distinctive serrated-peak massif that has served as a centre of Catalan identity and Benedictine monastic life since the eleventh century. The package covers the open-air museum, the Montserrat Museum, and an audiovisual space presenting the history of the mountain and its cultural significance through a new AV presentation. An audio guide is included throughout.
Visitors gain access to the basilica and to La Moreneta, the revered Romanesque statue of the Virgin of Montserrat housed within it, which has drawn pilgrims and travellers to the site for centuries. The Montserrat Museum holds a collection spanning Catalan painting, archaeological finds, and decorative arts. Tickets cover all listed entry points as a single package, with the starting point at Muntanya de Montserrat. Transport to and from the mountain and food and drinks are not included. Arrival and timing
Montserrat is a large mountain site with several distinct areas to explore, so plan to spend a good few hours here. Arrive at the starting point with time to get your bearings before heading into the various spaces included with your ticket. The mountain can be busy, particularly around the basilica and the access point for La Moreneta, so visiting earlier in the day generally means shorter queues.
Getting around the site

Each area is a separate stop on the mountain, so expect to walk between them across uneven, sloping terrain. Wear comfortable, sturdy footwear.
