The Museo Salvatore Ferragamo occupies the ground floor of the Palazzo Spini Feroni, a thirteenth-century palazzo on the Via de' Tornabuoni that has been the home of the Ferragamo brand since 1938. The museum traces the life and craft of Salvatore Ferragamo, the Neapolitan shoemaker who became known as the shoemaker to the stars after building his reputation in Hollywood during the 1920s. Permanent displays include thousands of archived shoe designs, original lasts, and documentary material charting his innovations in construction and materials, from cork wedges to transparent nylon uppers.

The collection is arranged to reflect both the artisanal and the cultural dimensions of his work, placing individual pieces within the broader history of twentieth-century fashion and Italian craftsmanship. The palazzo itself, one of the most significant medieval private buildings surviving in Florence, adds a layer of architectural history to the visit. Entry tickets are available for the permanent collection.
