Über diesen Veranstaltungsort

The Friedrichswerdersche Church stands in the Mitte district of Berlin as one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic brick architecture in the city. Designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and completed in 1831, it was the first neo-Gothic church built in Prussia and remains one of Schinkel's most celebrated works. The building's twin towers and red-brick facade have made it a landmark of central Berlin for nearly two centuries.

Following restoration work, the church now operates as a museum under the care of the Nationalgalerie, displaying a collection of nineteenth-century sculptures that reflect the artistic world Schinkel inhabited. Works by Johann Gottfried Schadow, Christian Daniel Rauch, and their contemporaries fill the interior, offering a close encounter with Prussian neoclassical sculpture in a setting of considerable architectural distinction. Entry tickets are available for visitors wishing to explore both the permanent collection and the building itself.
