The Divine Mercy Sanctuary in the Łagiewniki district of Kraków is one of the most significant Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. It stands on the grounds where Saint Faustina Kowalska lived, prayed, and received the visions that gave rise to the Divine Mercy devotion in the 1930s. Her remains are enshrined in the chapel, and the original image of the Merciful Jesus, painted under her direction in 1934, is venerated here by millions of visitors each year. The basilica completed in 2002 was consecrated by Pope John Paul II, who had deep personal ties to this place long before his pontificate.

The sanctuary draws pilgrims and visitors from across the globe, and guided tours now combine the site with the legacy of Karol Wojtyła, the Kraków archbishop who became Pope John Paul II. A guided tour with transfers brings together the sanctuary's spiritual and architectural significance alongside the broader story of a pope whose connection to this city shaped both Polish history and the modern Catholic Church.
